The children learnt that when they meet with difficult situations, they should think of solutions to their problems. Persevere and never give up!
This week, we went around the world and landed in Australia. We learnt these interesting facts about Australia:
1) Australia is a continent.
2) The Australian flag consists of 6 white stars.
3) Koalas, kangaroos and boomerangs are unique to Australia.
4) The Australian currency is the Australian dollar.
5) People travel to Australia to visit famous sites such as The Twelve Apostles, The Blue Mountains, The Three Sisters and The Great Barrier Reef.
During our lesson, the children discovered that the boomerang was used by the indigenous Australians for hunting. It is also used for sport, as well as entertainment. The children were intrigued by the boomerang’s traditionally colourful designs, and wanted to create one for themselves. They completed their intricate boomerang painting using cotton buds and paintbrushes. The children could not wait for their boomerangs to dry so that they can play with them next week!
Have a great weekend!
