Our planting day was a success! We were fortunate to have Reuben from National Parks (NParks) to help us plant. After he conducted a mini workshop about gardening in class, we headed out to our planter. As soon as the children saw the seedlings of “Princess Flower”, “Bush Pentas” and “Snakeweed”, their eyes lit up with excitement!
Reuben showed us how to plant a seedling and the children observed attentively. When it was their turn to plant, they put on their gloves excitedly. They picked up the trowels and started digging the soil with help from all of our parent volunteers. They did very well transferring the seedlings from the pots into the soil. After planting, they watered the seedlings with care. They promised to look after them and give them lots of love! Awww…
