We started our Learning Journey week with a visit to the Jacob Ballas Children's Garden. The children were excited and were looking forward to visiting the garden.
At the garden, the children saw many interesting plants. Among the many plants they spotted were, the banana tree, pineapple tree, fig tree, yam plant, tapioca plant, cotton plant, Mimosa plant, curry leaves, laksa leaves and basil leaves.
Many insects like the butterfly, dragonfly and bee were spotted flying around. The children recalled what they learnt in class and shared that the insects were pollinating the flowers. They also remembered that the dragonfly is a helpful insect because it eats the harmful mosquitoes. At the end of our walk, the children were also thrilled to see a monitor lizard taking a stroll in the garden!
Overall, it was a fruitful trip to the garden. The children enjoyed themselves and had a great time. - Marianne
