Term 2, Week 6 and 7
For the past two weeks, we’ve been travelling around the world and exploring Scandinavia. The Scandinavian countries are Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland. We explored the different Scandinavian cultures and traditions, and admired their traditional costumes. We also discovered some places of interest and famous architecture like The Seven Sisters in Norway, The Little Mermaid in Denmark, and The Ice Hotel in Sweden.
Crafting woven heart baskets for Christmas is a tradition in Scandinavian countries. People fill their heart baskets with candy and other surprises. The children put their hands to the test and did a good job of weaving.
The children are looking forward to exploring another part of the world next week!
